The refreshed 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback, built* exclusively in Indiana, begins arriving at Honda dealerships today with enhanced styling, new technology, and an available hybrid-electric powertrain that boosts performance and fuel efficiency. With hybrid power coming to the hatchback model for the first time in the U.S., the Civic Hatchback hybrid boasts 232 lb.-ft of torque and is the most powerful non-Type R Civic ever, while earning an impressive 50 mpg EPA city fuel economy rating5.
Sales of the new Civic hybrid-electric models, offered for the first time as either a sedan or hatchback, are expected to represent about 40% of Civic sales as a key step in the Honda electrification strategy.
The 2025 Civic Hatchback is available in three trim levels, starting with Sport and topped by the hybrid-electric Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid. The well-equipped Civic Hatchback Sport has a starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)1 of $27,450 (excluding $1,095 destination charge). The hybrid-electric powered 2025 Civic Hatchback Sport Hybrid starts at $29,950.
“With our new Honda Civic hybrid models, which now includes the first-ever Civic Hatchback hybrid, we’ve electrified America’s retail #1 compact car and our highest volume gateway model,” said Jessika Laudermilk, assistant vice president of Honda Auto Sales.
“The refreshed 2025 Civic lineup builds on the success of the 11th-generation Civic – the 2022 North American Car of the Year – with the power and efficiency of our award-winning Honda two-motor hybrid system.”
Civic follows the strategy of the Accord and CR-V with its top trims – Civic Sport hybrid and Civic Sport Touring hybrid – featuring the powerful and efficient Honda two-motor hybrid-electric system. With 232 lb.-ft of torque, they offer quicker acceleration than the outgoing 1.5L turbo-powered Civic while receiving substantially higher EPA fuel economy ratings of 50 mpg city and 48 mpg combined5. Linear Shift Control elevates the driving experience by mimicking the vehicle speed-linked rev feel typically associated with a conventional drivetrain shifting gears under acceleration.
To further amplify the legendary fun-to-drive spirit and class-leading ride comfort of Civic, the ride and handling of all Civic hybrid models have been optimized with unique spring and damper tuning, and a specially-developed tire. Hybrid trims also enjoy the lowest NVH levels in the Civic lineup, with a robust noise reduction package that includes Active Noise Control (all hybrids) and wheel resonators (Sport Touring).
The Honda Sensing® suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies is standard on all Civic models, with enhanced safety performance for 2025, including increased system visibility for motorcycles and bicycles for the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Pedestrian Detection.
The Civic is a gateway to the Honda brand and America’s most popular vehicle with Gen Z, first-time buyers and multicultural customers1. Honda Civic is America’s best-selling compact car since 19732.
Exceptional Value
Every 2025 Honda Civic Sedan and Hatchback boasts enhanced exterior styling with a new more aggressive front fascia and grille inspired by the look of the turbocharged Civic Type R. For an even sportier look, the new hybrid-powered trims get a distinct body colored headlamp garnish and front lower spoiler.
Offering customers greater choice, the best-selling Sport trim is now available with either a new, more refined and fuel-efficient 2.0-liter engine, or the more powerful 200 hp hybrid-electric powertrain. With the new Atkinson cycle 4-cylinder engine and retuned continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), the combined EPA fuel economy rating increases to 34 mpg (+2) for the popular Sport trim.
All Sport trims continue to feature dark trim and black 18-inch alloy wheels, while the Sport Hybrid also comes standard with a moonroof, heated front seats and dual zone climate controls.
The top-of-the-line Sport Touring Hybrid features Civic’s first integration of Google built-in. This includes apps like Google Assistant, Google Maps and more on Google Play for a helpful, personalized and connected driving experience, with a complimentary 3-year unlimited data plan.
The Sport Touring Hybrid adds an exclusive new machine-finished wheel design, leather seating, a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system and intuitive technology, including a larger 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™ compatibility, and a wireless smartphone charger.
Three bold new colors enhance the appearance of the 2025 Civic Hatchback, including Solar Silver Metallic, Urban Gray Pearl, and Sand Dune Pearl which is exclusive to Civic Hatchback.
Inside, the simple and clean Civic interior is also refreshed. All hybrid models are now available with a gray interior color. All Civic models now come standard with front USB-C ports.
Safety Performance Enhanced
Based on the longstanding Honda approach of “Safety for Everyone,” a commitment to advancing safety for everyone sharing the road, the 11th-generation Civic is a safety leader in the compact class, with advanced active and passive safety technology that comes standard on every Civic.
The Honda Sensing® suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies is standard on all Civic models with enhanced safety performance for 2025. This includes increased system visibility for motorcycles and bicycles for the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Pedestrian Detection, and smoother, more natural feeling to the functions of both Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS). Forward Collision Warning and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) incorporating Lane Departure Warning (LDW) are standard as well. And blind spot information with Rear Cross Traffic Monitor is now standard across the Civic Hatchback lineup.
Every Civic includes the Honda proprietary Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure designed to help protect occupants in a wide variety of frontal collisions, along with advanced supplemental restraint systems.
The driver and passenger front airbags in Civic were designed to minimize the potential for severe brain trauma associated with angled frontal collisions. The front driver’s airbag uses an innovative donut-shaped structure to cradle and cradle the head to reduce rotation. The passenger-side front airbag uses a three-chamber design with the two outer chambers designed to achieve a similar result. All Civic models feature front and outboard rear seatbelt pretensioners, and side, driver and front-passenger knee and side-curtain airbags.
